Here’s Bolaji’s 11 on 11

1. Well…Who are you?
I am Bolaji Gelax, a happy-go-lucky, ever optimistic, passionate, positive, resilient young
female creative. I’m a generation X Nigerian actor, blogger, content creator, devil’s advocate
and writer, amongst other things. I’m a firm believer in doing what makes you happy and
spreading happiness.

2. What drove you to start a blog?
Truthfully, this may sound narcissistic but I thought I had truckload of interesting stuffs in
me, and decided to share with the world.
Lol… On a bit of a serious note, I started blogging so as to create a community where people
can just be themselves whilst having fun, learning and connecting.

3. What else draws your heart and drives your interest?
Firstly, that would be my fear of hunger. Don’t even ask me (literally laughing my behind off
right now). But yeah, it’s such a simple yet complicated answer.
Secondly, I’m very passionate about the things I do and I believe I’m not just doing it for
myself, but countless other persons I may never get to meet one-on-one but that thought alone
is enough push.

4. Your most cherished achievement and your greatest adversity?
My most cherished achievement would be turning out this great in spite of all I’ve been
through. I’m amazed by how I’m able to laugh easily, love wholeheartedly and fight
relentlessly. It’s a wonder. I’m a wonder.
Hmmm… My greatest adversity… I’d probably say is impostor syndrome.

5. A book, a movie and an album
Book – Purpose-Driven Life by Rick Warren
Movie – Exam
An album – About 30 by Adekunle Gold

6. Do you have a mantra, quote or idea that you live by?
Two actually.
My dad always told us as a child that “Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well”
My absolute favourite is, “If you know where you’re going, then you’ll know what you should be doing” – Bolaji Gelax

7. Describe how it feels and how it looks when you’re in your element.
The feeling is that of a 3-year-old happy girl who just had her favourite meal.
The look is lots of laughing, dancing, jumping, shouting, harmonizing every word and
murdering lyrics of songs. Oh, when people are around me, I tend to kiss them all over and
hug them till they cry for mercy .

8. If you could travel to three locations of your choice then finally sit down and have a
heart to heart with one person, where and who?
I’ve always wanted to visit Kenya. l while Uganda is my new favourite place to visit. Third
location would be Barbados. I’d like to have a heart to heart with my father.

9. If you were to describe your life, passions, and ideals in aesthetics what would it
be?
That would be ABSTRACT because there is more to me, my life, passions and ideals than
meets the eye.

10. What time period would you visit in history?
Can’t think of any right now.

11. What is the closest thing to real magic?
True love.

[One more thing, ask me anything.]
Who do you think you are?

[Boy is this a tough one.]
[If I may snag a quote from The Big Bang Theory, “the holographic principle suggests that what we all experience every day in three dimensions may really just be information on a surface located at the farthest reaches of our cosmos. So it’s possible that our lives are really just acting out a painting on the largest canvas in the universe.”
If said principle is to be factualised I would say I am a character, a boy/man/mukomana/murume who want’s his life -the slightest brushstroke on the painting- to be a positive and “interesting” one, and also spend his time making googly eyes at the beauty of this large canvas the way a devoted art student would a Picasso.]

If anyone finds my answer morbidly cliché you can jump off a cliff.
I’m joking, it’s all love here.

Speaking of which, if you’re ever in need of more sunshine make sure to peek at her site, the Gelax Chatroom.
